Volunteer opportunities

Around 20,000 people have put their hands up to be part of the official Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Volunteer Program.

There are still thousands more ways you can help us make the most of the Games and maybe open up some new longer term possibilities.

With 500-plus Games-related activities happening across the State there will be lots of opportunities for you to get involved in the Games - whether its helping to organise a local welcoming ceremony for athletes or sports demonstrations with a nearby club. Contact your local Council to find out more.

You can also become one of our tree volunteers and take part in planting days happening around Victoria from July 2005 onwards.

St John's Ambulance is seeking 1000 volunteers to provide first aid services at the Commonwealth Games. Volunteers will provide first aid coverage at Games venues across the State, as well as at other events such as the Queen's Baton Relay, cultural events and live sites.
