Transport overview

The State Netball Hockey Centre is located approximately 3.5km north of Melbourne's CBD, close to the Village, Melbourne Zoo and Princes Park and surrounded by open parkland and sporting grounds. Spectators will travel to the State Netball and Hockey Centre by train and alight at Royal Park station. There is no parking offered close to the venue, but a Park and Ride facility will be located at Princes Park and spectators can catch a free shuttle bus from Royal Parade to the northern car park of Melbourne Zoo. From there it is a short walk to the venue. Residential Permit Parking arrangements that exist prior to the Games will remain in operation during the Games. While Permit holders retain their rights under that permit, they are still required to comply with the Games-related temporary parking restrictions operating in that area. (No Stopping/Tow-Away zones apply to all vehicles).
