Transport overview

The Men and Women's Race Walks will be held in Melbourne Docklands along Victoria Harbour and NewQuay. The route includes Harbour Esplanade, NewQuay Promenade, Aquitania Way, Caravel Lane and Dopel Lane,. Spectators are expected to access this event by walking from Southern Cross Station.

All Road Event courses were publicly announced in July 2005. Approximately 150,000 booklets containing course routes and event dates and details were distributed throughout local communities where Road Events are taking place. There will be ongoing communications in the lead up to the Games to help communities fully understand the local arrangements that will be put in operation.

Closed between NewQuay Promenade and Bourke Streets from midnight to 4.00pm

Restricted access between Dudley Street and NewQuay Promenade from midnight to 4.00pm

La Trobe Street

Closed west of Adderley Street from midnight to 3.30pm

A number of areas in and around the course may have No stopping / tow-away restrictions. Please pay close attention to parking signage in the days before, during and after this event to ensure vehicles are not left in restricted areas.
