Transport overview
Bendigo, located 130 kilometres from Melbourne's CBD will host two Commonwealth Games events - Basketball and Full Bore Shooting. Basketball games will be played at the Bendigo Schweppes Centre, 3.5 kilometres west of the town's centre. Parking is available at the venue and spectators can also travel on a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Bendigo Station where an Accessible and spectator shuttle bus will operate to the venue.
Live Site
A Live Site, featuring Festival Melbourne 2006 events, performances and live broadcasts of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and competition events, will operate in Bendigo for the duration of the Games. The Bendigo Live Site will be located at the Bendigo Civic Gardens between Hargreaves Street and Lyttleton Terrace and is expected to draw large crowds particularly for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and on weekends. Details of Live Site operating times will be available closer to the Games.
