Transport overview
The historic City of Ballarat is located 110km from Melbourne. The Ballarat Minerdome is located 4km north-west of Ballarat CBD at Hollioake Park, approximately 10 minutes north-east of the centre of the City. Parking is available at the venue, and a V/Line train operates from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Ballarat Station where an accessible spectator bus will carry spectators to the venue.
Live Site
A Live Site, featuring Festival Melbourne 2006 events, performances and live broadcasts of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and competition events, will operate in Ballarat for the duration of the Games.
The Ballarat Live Site will be located in Camp Street and is expected to draw large crowds particularly for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and on weekends. Details of Live Site operating times will be available closer to the Games.
