Transport overview
Albert Park Precinct is located approximately 3km south of Melbourne’s CBD and will be a major Games competition area. Spectators will travel to and from the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre during the Commonwealth Games by catching tram route 112 in Spencer Street at Collins Street. There will be no parking near the venue and increased parking restrictions will apply. Traffic management in the area will also be affected by the normal arrangements that take place in preparation for the Formula 1 Grand Prix which will be held from Thursday 30 March to Sunday April 2, 2006.

Parking restrictions
The area bounded by Bridport Street and Raglan Street in the north, Moray Street to the east, Montague Street-Kerford Road-Richardson Street to the west and Harold Street to the south will have strict parking restrictions enforced. Residential Permit Parking arrangements that exist prior to the Games will remain in operation during the Games. However, permit holders will still need to comply with temporary parking restrictions that will be in place particularly with regard to the Road Events.
