The Commonwealth Games Respecting Indigenous Communities Strategy aims to ensure Indigenous Victoria is recognised, respected and celebrated as part of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, and that Victoria's Indigenous communities derive lasting benefits from Melbourne's hosting of the Games.
The Koori Business Network (KBN) is working with the Office of the Commonwealth Games Co-ordination to deliver three exciting showcase programs profiling Indigenous businesses, artists and performers throughout the Games period (15 - 26 March 2006).
The showcase will feature a variety of programs and activities, designed to promote the talents and achievements of Victoria's Indigenous communities. The program will provide Games visitors and the local community with an opportunity to experience Indigenous Victorian products, art, cultural activities and recognise business achievements. Businesses will have an opportunity to develop new networks and links on a local, national and international level that will maximise opportunities beyond the Games.
